This policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard personal information when you use Lona Technologies, consistent with applicable Philippine data privacy and consumer protection laws.

1. Who we are

Lona Technologies is the controller of personal data processed through this Platform. This policy applies to visitors, customers, and account users.

For Philippine operations, this policy is aligned with Republic Act No. 10173 (Data Privacy Act of 2012), its Implementing Rules and Regulations, and issuances of the National Privacy Commission (NPC).

2. Information we collect

  • Account details such as name, email address, and company information.
  • Billing information required for subscription and payment operations.
  • Product usage data, support requests, and device or browser metadata.

3. How we use information

  • To provide and maintain the service.
  • To process subscriptions and manage billing lifecycle events.
  • To communicate about account, service, and support matters.
  • To improve platform reliability, security, and feature quality.

Where relevant, processing may also support compliance with lending and consumer disclosure obligations under RA 9474 (Lending Company Regulation Act), RA 3765 (Truth in Lending Act), and RA 7394 (Consumer Act), as well as applicable BSP and SEC rules.

4. Payment processing (Paddle)

Payments are processed by Paddle, which acts as merchant of record for transactions where applicable. We receive billing and transaction metadata needed to provision service access, reconcile subscriptions, and support customers.

Use of payment data is subject to Paddle's own privacy terms in addition to this policy.

When processing payment-related personal data, we apply lawful processing principles under RA 10173, including proportionality, transparency, and legitimate purpose.

5. Sharing of data

We share data only with trusted service providers needed to run the service (for example hosting, analytics, and payment processors), or where required by law.

6. Data retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary for legitimate business purposes, legal obligations, dispute resolution, and enforcement of agreements.

Retention periods are set to satisfy contractual requirements and statutory/regulatory retention duties under Philippine law, after which data is deleted or anonymized when no longer required.

7. Your privacy rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data.

For data subjects in the Philippines, rights include the right to be informed, access, object, erasure or blocking, damages, and data portability under RA 10173. You may also lodge a complaint with the NPC.

8. Security

We apply reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, loss, or misuse.

Security controls and incident handling are maintained in line with applicable NPC guidance, including personal data breach management and notification requirements where applicable.
